Airborne XT912 Aircraft Rockhampton Sport Aviation (RSA) is a flying school & club for recreational aircraft pilots and enthusiasts. We are based at Hedlow Airfield near Rockhampton in Queensland, Australia. The school operates as a satellite Flight Training Facility (FTF) of Caboolture Microlights.

All flight training is accredited by Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus) and is conducted under the supervision of John Cresswell, the Chief Flying Instructor of Caboolture Microlights. Click on the calendar to see a schedule of days when flight training is available here. Calendar

Trial Instructional Flights

The Capricorn Coast offers marvellous scenery and some awesome TIFs (Trial Instructional Flights) are planned; RSA will be offering routes to Emu Park, Rosslyn Bay Marina, Great Keppel Island, Yeppoon, Mercure Capricorn Resort and as far North as Five Rocks.

TIFs will total either 1.5 or 2 hours, with flying times of 45 min and 1 hour respectively. You'll be able to take control and fly the aircraft on your very first flying experience with us!

Aircraft

For flexwing training, Rockhampton Sport Aviation uses only "trikes" from Airborne Windsports. The aircraft are manufactured in Australia in a CASA approved factory. The company is one the largest manufacturers of this type of aircraft in the world and their products have been exported to over 30 countries.

Our Airborne XT912 Tundra (see photo above) is Airborne's latest design features a “topless" wing supported by struts and 4-stroke power gives a cruise speed of around 70 knots with 7 hours of endurance!

Rockhampton Sport Aviation can provide fixed-wing flight training to owners of suitable aircraft. We hope to be able to have our own training aircraft in the near future. Contact us for further details
